A tilt-up concrete building addition and interior renovation expanded the Westside Family Church campus to support four independent worship venues, new classrooms, and a significantly enlarged lobby. Our construction approach allowed the church to remain in active operation throughout construction.
The addition connects seamlessly to the existing lobby, creating an expanded arrival and gathering space. Large-format tile flooring in the lobby incorporates both matte and gloss finishes for visual depth and architectural interest. Drywall ceiling clouds with integrated lighting and HVAC diffusers define the lobby overhead. Church entry and access were maintained throughout every phase of the build.
To serve adults and youth of all ages, we installed fully independent audio, video, and lighting infrastructure systems in each of the four worship venues. Backlit acoustical wall panels with LED color-changing lighting bring energy to the children’s rooms. RGB house lighting with automated scene control is deployed throughout all worship spaces. Stage areas feature back-wall acoustic insulation to minimize reverberation, and exposed structural ceiling systems with spray insulation meet fire rating requirements while also contributing to a contemporary aesthetic.
“Pearce worked in close concert with the architects from the genesis of the project, bringing invaluable experience through their cost-analysis and “what-if” estimates, construction method alternatives, and construction value best-practices. They greatly shaped the direction and success of the project well before groundbreaking.”
