How We Built This Project

Blue Springs Christian Church operated two buildings on the same site, which were not connected and operated separately. Pearce constructed a new connecting building that houses a new lobby and entry. We also completed interior renovations of both existing buildings, all while full weekend services and weekday operations continued.

Our primary structural challenge came from the different floor elevations of the existing building. Bridging those buildings required careful engineering to create a seamless transition between them. Site utilities running through an existing courtyard between the buildings added complexity to underground coordination, and the site’s confined nature demanded precise sequencing to protect active programming, including children’s weekday education, at every phase.

Working within our limited budget, the team maximized usable ministry and lobby space while meeting the owner’s programmatic goals. Existing HVAC equipment was relocated as part of the work, and future expansion capabilities were built into the utilities, structural systems, and parking infrastructure to support the congregation’s long-term growth. Exterior masonry and sheet metal finishes on the new connector building were carefully matched to both existing structures, creating a cohesive appearance across the unified campus.

“Throughout the years, we have been most fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Pearce Construction. I have always been impressed with not only the quality of their work, but also their dedication to the interests of their clients and the design team.”
