This multifaceted project combined a major building addition, interior renovation, athletic field development, and new maintenance infrastructure into a single, phased delivery to transform the church’s campus into a comprehensive ministry and community destination.
The site work alone was significant in scale: more than ten acres were regraded to create new athletic fields, supported by new retaining walls, drainage and irrigation systems, landscaping, and dedicated maintenance and concession buildings.
The two-story building addition introduced new lobby and education spaces designed around a strong sense of arrival. A cantilevered pilaster and cable-supported, completely column-free entry canopy creates an architectural statement at the drop-off entry while maximizing clearance for vehicles and pedestrians. An escalator was engineered to resolve a grade change between the existing parking lot and building, eliminating the need for ramps or additional stairs and providing a smooth transition between levels and floor plates.
Themed children’s spaces were a centerpiece of the addition, featuring movie-theater-inspired elements, a suspended three-dimensional hang-glider with a pilot, and integrated check-in and security areas. Theater-style worship rooms were outfitted with full audio, video, and lighting systems, along with acoustical treatments including diffuser panels and LED-backlit absorption panels. Metal acoustical panels define the café seating area, enhancing the social environment while managing room acoustics.
The renovation portion of the project was completed while the building remained in active use.
