Pearce constructed a new surgery center for an existing eye clinic in Overland Park, with the clinic remaining in operation throughout construction. The addition includes two fully outfitted operating rooms and a third room constructed to a ready state for future build-out when the practice is prepared to expand.
Area separation walls between the existing clinic and the new surgery center were constructed in accordance with state building regulations. Public-facing spaces include recessed lighting in aluminum ceiling systems, storefront glazing, bottom-lit reception and check-in desks, sliding doors at consultation rooms, and restroom facilities. Clinical areas include a nurses’ station with nurse call systems, custom millwork and casework for medical supplies, rubber flooring per medical design standards, medical pre-op and post-op furnishings, and direct and indirect lighting systems. Operating rooms and clean rooms include medical gas piping, emergency call systems, and stainless steel countertops and casework. A complete building backup electrical generator system was installed as required by surgery center regulations. Exterior finishes include large stone panels and metal-clad architectural features.
“I cannot commend Pearce Construction enough. For a complex project like this to be completed on time and under budget, under the most challenging construction conditions when we needed a new place to operate so quickly is truly remarkable.”
