How We Built This Project

Our long-term relationship with Pleasant Valley Baptist Church spans multiple projects delivered over a 20-year period, progressively expanding and enhancing the Church campus while the worship facility remained in continuous operation throughout each phase.

The lobby addition included a fully equipped commercial coffee shop with display cases, menu boards, and themed finishes. A raised performance and presentation platform with a decorative fireplace anchors the gathering space, which features polished concrete flooring, reclaimed lumber wall accents, and new interior lighting. A new stair tower connects the lobby to lower-level worship spaces, and a children’s slide provides direct access from the first floor to the level below. The second-floor library, with storefront framing, a new steel stair stringer, reclaimed lumber treads, and aircraft-cable railings, overlooks the lobby below.

An exterior courtyard expansion created new outdoor programming space for youth, including concrete hardscape, trellis structures for shade, enclosed children’s play areas, sand volleyball courts, and an entry drop-off drive with integrated storm drainage, all supported by exterior lighting systems.

A dedicated K–2 children’s education wing provided new classrooms with child-height decorative interior windows, children’s worship venues with raised platforms and full audio/video/lighting systems, and vibrant primary colors throughout. The youth addition delivered a 300-seat worship venue for middle and high school students, a gathering space defined by an architectural slat ceiling and lighting element, garage door access to an exterior patio, new themed gathering spaces, and integrated security and AVL systems.

“Throughout the process and construction, Pearce operated at a high level of professionalism, yet they maintained a balance of truly caring about the needs of the church to use the facilities. They kept the disruption to a minimum so that ministry and activities were not hindered.”
