How We Built This Project

This renovation brought renewed life to an established traditional worship space, focusing on the careful restoration of historic materials and the introduction of updated lighting — all while the building remained in use throughout construction.

The work required a high degree of craft and precision. Existing parquet wood flooring was refinished in place. All pews were removed from the sanctuary, transported off-site for re-staining and refinishing, and then reinstalled. Historic wood arches were repaired and refinished. Throughout every phase of work, the existing pipe organ, console, piping, and stained-glass windows were fully protected from dust and construction activity, a non-negotiable condition given the irreplaceable nature of these elements.

New retrofit lighting was installed to serve dual purposes: general house illumination and theatrical lighting of the seating and worship areas, enabling the space to support a range of service formats and programming needs.
